Description

The 6″ Shelf Including Brackets is a lovely addition to any room that’ll be sure to add that extra bit of character. Includes either ‘up’ or ‘down’ style brackets. Choose from the drop down selection which brackets you require.

The 6″ Shelf Including Brackets is made from solid Pine and will be waxed in one of the colours in the drop down section. The high quality wax preserves the wood and keeps it nourished, whilst also giving the shelf the added benefit of a smooth finish and resistance to spillages. The wax is specially formulated to soak in quite deep whilst still allowing the natural grains and knots to be visible, allowing the wood to remain absolutely gorgeous and natural.

Each shelf comes with a pair of brackets (2 single brackets). For the larger shelves, you may wish to purchase additional brackets. These can be found in our store under the category ‘Brackets’. The brackets that come with this shelf are black powder coated heavy duty steel. The powder coating ensures a longer life span of them looking their best and protects against corrosion and rusting. Fixings are included for attaching to a wall (masonary walls recommended). Ensure you unwrap all items as soon as you receive them.

How we prepare the rough sawn timber:

First, we plane the timber on all sides to clean it up. Note that this process can sometimes take up to 1/4″ off the finished size. Each shelf is then sent to the router to give it the slight roundover edges. Using various grit papers, we then sand to give it a smooth finish and wax it giving the shelf its final colour.

The wood we use is sustainably sourced. All of our wood collection is made from real solid wood and so can be heavy. With our products being made from natural woods, you will expect to see slight imperfections including wood grains, knots and even overall finish. Please expect each shelf to be unique. Our products aren’t laminated and are real, solid wood. Meaning each one will have a different appearance. Just how nature intended! Our products are all hand made to a high standard. Please note that we cannot guarantee a complete colour match to that you see on your screen. The finished product may look slightly different in colour. This is due to your screen calibrations (brightness, contrast and satuation).

To maintain your shelf, only use a damp cloth to clean up any spillages. Otherwise, using just an anti-static duster will give the best performance for general regular cleaning. Every couple of years, it is recommended to re-wax your piece of wooden furniture. This can be done using a clear furniture wax. We use only kiln dried timber meaning it is already adapted to the usual humidity levels within your home. Note that placing this shelf above a fireplace may result in cracks and warping over time. Whilst this will give the shelf the ultimate barn-style appearance, it is recommended to wax the wood more frequently to give a better protection going forward.
